  AMNESIAN I agree with what you said:

  A good number will do just as I and many others here did for years before we snapped out of it: read it, ponder it, wonder suspiciously what the hell they were slyly not saying, and keep our mouths shut while filing it away with assorted other nagging doubts accumulated --- until the crushing weight of the evidence became too heavy to continue to suppress.

  That is EXACTLY what I did too. Thanks for reminding me of this 'cuz it gives me hope that there are many more out there doing the same thing that will eventually suddenly see the lights turned on.

  I'm embarrassed to remember how many times I would purposely leave out surrounding scriptures of a verse being used to "backup and prove" a certain point or rule. Those surrounding verses were actually an embarrassment because they could raise a question about how can that scripture possibly apply to the WTS's point, if they would be read too.

  So hopefully JW readers here will recognize themselves and start to DO something about those nagging thoughts.

  My first thought about this article too was like others who could not see the application. WHY? Because it isn't there!!!!! They are twisting the scripture AGAIN to apply to something they want the R&F to do... or not do.

  i have been very curious about a few things and knowing your willingness to help out us "weak" ones i have a couple of questions.. 1. are you allowed as jws to visit boards like these or is a matter of conscience?.

  I would like to add #8: Do you not FEEL like a hypocrit when a householder asks you: "Do you JWs think you are the only ones to be saved and all others will be destroyed by God?" and you answer: "No, it isn't up to us to judge who will live and die....only God can judge the heart".

  Yes this is your typical answer to the unsuspecting....BUT you know you DO judge others.

  A typical experience: I know someone who has recently stopped going to meetings and has answered to any asking her why, that she does not want to talk about it and has made her choice. She was then told: "What are we going to tell your husband in the resurrection when he asks why you aren't there in the New System".

  Hmmmmmm...you don't judge eh?

  I just saw this thread now and I am so disgusted I can hardly speak. What a totally heartless and mindless thing to do to a family member or to anyone for that matter.

  There is no way you dear folks deserve this label and treatment!!!

  I am so deeply saddened by this for what it is doing to such loving people. Whatever your decision is, I know you will handle the situation with class and dignity. You and Mrs. Ozzie have more compassion and love for your fellowman in your little finger than the whole heartless WTS has in its HUGE, STERILE, COLD and ANTISEPTIC ORGANIZATION.

  I agree with you Ozzie about anyone contemplating becoming a JW to look at this thread.

  To you who may be studying or thinking that the JW religion appears to be so good...... to anyone reading these messages on this site that is contemplating becoming a JW....READ, READ, READ, all the experiences of those suffering at the hands of these so-called Christians. They claim to be "keeping the congregation clean". Trust us as ones who have been there and know the WHOLE story. It is just a huge cop-out excuse to exercise their authority over the flock and to keep them from learning the real TRUTH. Yes there seems to be kind, loving people in the congregations....but they really are few and far between once you get to REALLY know them. They have forgotten or never learned how to really think on their own. This is only one example of the many heartless rules and regulations they have.

  And you active JWs reading this....You think they deserve this? or maybe this doesn't happen in your loving congregation. Know this... this is not an isolated incident. This is happening every day the world over. Many on this board, including me, have had this same treatment handed out to ones who only questioned some of the hurtful actions and hypocricy and misapplication of scriptures. READ, READ, READ, and then do your own research and for GOD's SAKE....THINK!!!!

  And as for you high and mighty ones sitting in your cushy surroundings making all these rules.....how utterly disgusting you are...how arrogant!!!! This is so typical of your "we are better than everyone else" attitude. You KNOW you are misapplying those scriptures you CLAIM to be upholding. You KNOW God never intended families to be broken apart like this. Don't try to use old Hebrew examples like Korah for this situation......It does not apply!!! and you know it.

  YOU have so much to answer to God for....and YES I AM ANGRY. I have that to answer for too.... but you have NO RIGHT to cause this kind of hurt and stress on people. AND know this too...your days of this kind of control are numbered. More and more people are becoming aware of your shady tactics BEFORE they become under your control. We shall see continue to work at that!!!

  Ozzie and Mrs. Ozzie, you both have helped me so much through my sorrow and pain in finding out how I had been lied to for ALL of my life. I hope knowing that we all love you and are deeply hurt with you, will somehow ease the pain for you.

  Just a couple so far...but yup..the snowball is rolling and we'll just have to wait and see how much "snow" it gathers. A few typically brainwashed JWs just returned to burying their heads in the sand and another couple we haven't heard back from yet. They are afraid of the "where will we go to" stumbling block. But we haven't given up! Got a few more "snowballs" to throw yet.

  Thanks hawkaw once again!!!!

  I hope everyone sees the significance of this "selective quotations" by the WTS. This tactic of theirs has become so evident to me in this past year on several subjects and more just keeps popping up.

  I noticed this "find" of MA's and used it in the file I put together on this whole UN fiasco. I am so glad to say that the material I gathered from all the letters and scanned documents you tirelessly dug up and the incriminating WT articles that several others here listed, was the final clincher for my friends who have now made their total breakaway from the WTS.

  Now seeing the actual scanned pages just adds to the authenticity of this quotation.

  This "selective quotations" tactic has now come around full circle and is smacking the WTS in the face.....and it looks so good on them. How they ever expected to get away with it for so long is totally beyond me......sheer arogance on their part is the only answer I can see.

  Blood Issue- Calgary Father Needs Help

  the father asked me yesterday on the phone if any more of you could help him out with respect to his financial situation in defending against the wts to keep his daughter alive.

  he is deeply greatful to all who have helped so far.. as you are aware the wts is trying to prevent his daughter from having life saving blood transfusions during her chemo therapy.

  she has leukemia.. the father has won all court battles in all alberta courts.

  I am so glad to see the posts of ones responding to the appeal for donations to help the father. I'm sure there are many more who have already done so too, but what a "witness" we will give to the WTS if "shunned Father" receives enough to not let these bullies push their weight around.

  We're onto their scare tactics and I'm sure there are enough of us around who don't want to let the WTS have their way with this girl's life. She's nothing more to them than a feather in their cap if they succeed in their tactics of pushing this further so he can't afford to fight them.

  And the results?....she likely loses her life and the WTS get another martyr to use to glorify themselves in their mags.

  I know there is enough of us here that just can't let that happen!

  Hello All:

  (sniff, sniff, cough, cough) Blasted bronchitis!!!! Well it sure looks like I missed a great "Apostofest". (although I have to admit, you guys had me wondering what kind of "gathering" this one was going to be with appointments of ones to be in charge of "indecent acts" and "panty removal"----whew!!!!---you guys had me a little worried for awhile)

  Well I'm glad to see everyone survived OK and lived to tell about it. I've always thoroughly enjoyed the ones we've had before and by the sounds of it, this one was a huge success too. I remember how great it was at my first one to finally put a face to the posters so I understand how all you first timers feel today.

  somebody: Sorry to miss meeting you again! I sure hope we get to meet up someday soon and zev too!

  I'm so looking forward to seeing you "regulars" again--Path, 68storm, peter, grace, and the others who missed too like expat, Kismet, Moxy and Chris and of course outnfree and Dana.

  in the past i have sometimes felt like i have to be the 'bad guy', so to speak, because i need to lock or delete topics, deactivate people, try and stop fights and such like - basically, telling people off and not being 'nice'.. well, apart from the odd heated debate and harsh word (and disruptive 'visit') i have not really had a great deal to do for the past month or two and it has been very nice - a pleasure to serve.. so ... i thought i should say a 'thank you' instead of a "stop it!

  Just jumpin' in here to say a big THANK YOU SIMON AND ANGHARAD.

  This place has been a haven of comfort for me for the last year. My convictions about leaving the JWs became so much stronger once I started learning so much from the excellent posters here and I especially am so glad for the friends I've made here.

  When my mom died a few months ago, I received so much more sincere comforting words and {{{hugs}}} from my friends here than I received from the JW "friends" I had in my whole lifetime as JW.

  So thank you again for providing this place for us all.
